PHOTOS & VIDEO of First Flush:
12/09/2008

Recently, GreenPosting wrote about Portland's new $140,000 solar powered public toilet prior to its first flush unveiling on Monday.  Thinking I could be the first to use it, I drank a lot of water and hustled down to go see the public bathroom on NW 5th and Glisan.  From afar, I was surprised by the amount of people that had the same thought in mind.  But, as I got closer just about every local media outlet was there as well as the Mayor Elect, Sam Adams.

Here are some photos that include Mayor Adams leaving the loo, the golden plunger, and the mechanical innards.

Personally, I don't care to see anyone I know - let alone the Mayor - leaving the loo.
