Coffee shop in vibrant Alberta Arts District. Our mission is to provide tasty, mostly organic, locally produced food and coffee for everyone - vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters - while supporting other local small businesses and non-profits in our community. Our space is funky and inviting and is a meeting place for all who appreciate mankind (and dog kind-free treats for our furry friends). Kid friendly, garden patio, gourmet sandwiches, desserts.
Sustainable Qualification Summary
We define "sustainability " as the balance of Economic, Environmental and Social concerns. Our business was founded on the vision of trying to achieve this balance in our business. We want a place that serves organic and fair trade food and drink where we compost, reuse/recycle religiously and buy local whenever possible. We also wanted to create a place that is respectful and where most feel welcome and where we support our community and fellow merchants. Finally we need to be a financially sustainable as well -- why else try to be sustainable if we put ourselves out of business?. In addition we feel that there can never be enough places that allow people to get together, gather and spend time communicating with one another face-to-face. We hope the environment in the cafe encourages this behavior.
