Taproot Web Hosting is owned and operated by a small group of ethical designers and developers in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. Striking a balance between technical know-how and creative spark, we each bring 10 years of experience in web hosting to the table. After spending too much time working for bottom-dollar executives, we decided to "branch out" (as it were) and start Taproot Hosting - a company guided by our own principles; reasonably priced services, environmentally friendly technology and stellar support for the folks that make our success possible -- You! Our web hosting is 100% green - our servers, and thusly your websites, are 100% Clean Wind Powered. Clean Wind is 100 percent new wind power. This carbon-free power comes from wind farms here in the Northwest and is endorsed by such groups as the Renewable Northwest Project, Northwest Energy Coalition and Natural Resources Defense Council.

Sustainable Qualification Summary
First and foremost, our servers are 100% Clean Wind Powered. This carbon-free power comes from wind farms in the Northwest and is endorsed by the Renewable Northwest Project, Northwest Energy Coalition and Natural Resources Defense Council. In addition, our employees telecommute. This means we don't use fossil fuels to transport ourselves to work, nor are we using extra energy for the powering of separate office space. Our employees have enrolled their homes in 100% Renewable Energy plans with their Power Companies. We also plant a tree for every new customer. Lastly, our business model is based on reasonable, ethical and sustainable growth. Our goal is simple: To sustain a non-excessive lifestyle for a small staff in a way that contributes to the betterment of the lives of our customers and the planet. We aspire to be a small hosting boutique with an eternally personal touch and a joyful, well-served clientèle.

Unlike other services that resell hosting, TapRoot is hands-on with their business and will do anything to help your own. They are a real asset to Portland's business community.
