Inspired by fresh air markets from around the world, we decided to take taste matters into our own hands. We have opened Spice Road Market to provide fresh, organic culinary spices, salts, dried peppers, mushrooms, honey, and vanilla-all served with a friendly, helpful attitude in a groovy, laid back atmosphere.
Whether you are a skilled chef, or have never cooked a thing in your life, we cater to all tastes, and skill levels. We look forward to giving spice racks all over Portland a makeover and supplying quality spice to your favorite restaurants. Come in and taste our fresh chai!
Mission Statement: Portland Spice Merchants will create a resource for the practice of culinary arts, personal health and public enjoyment with a continual focus on global environmental and social prosperity.

I love the Spice Road Market! Todd and Kathleen are amazing, I felt like an old friend sitting and chatting with them on my first visit. The tea that was suggested to regulate my hormone's has been very helpful (and I really love how it tastes!) Hormone adaptogin (not sure of spelling!) Tulsi + Rhodiola (for adrenal support).
I have now received 2 acupuncture treatments from Kathleen and loved every second. (These were my first acupuncture experiences an wow did I feel great afterwords!) Two of my massage therapist friends have checked her out as well and really enjoyed their experience too! It's great because she does a sliding scale fee structure to make it affordable to get a treatment when you need it, instead of when you can afford it!
The spices are also really inexpensive and yummy, I was amazed to find out that they are almost all organic as well!

They are very helpful, and patient with newbies. I bought their Southwest Blend and tried it on some chicken, and it turned out great. I highly recommend their store- even if you just want to see all the unique ingredients they use.

Spice Road is a great place to visit! I highly recommend the Vanilla Steamer, as it will always make your day better.
Great service, great prices, and as local as you can get.

With my limited cooking skills, I really rely on Spice Road's pre-mixed Blends. The chipotle blend seasoning is out of this world, and the Italian blend shortens my lasagna prep time considerably.
The green matcha tea is a great way to sit and chat with the owners about new products and recipes that they've added to their inventory. I also highly recommend signing up for their email newsletter as it comes with great inexpensive, meal ideas. A necessity in this economic time.
One last thing to note: The Bolivian red salt is the perfect final touch to a fresh bowl of homemade guacamole.
