Sustainable Qualification Summary
We compost all of our food scraps through the city composting program. We recycle ALL plastic and cardboard materials that come thru our business. What plastics can't be recycled thru the city run program, we take to the Masters Recycling Program which happens city-wide about twice a year. Most of our grocery is in the form of bulk foods so as to minimize the packaging gone into their distribution. We occasionally offer classes on raw food lifestyle and preparation, classes on canning and freezing vegetables. We have seed swaps twice a year. We have a large community board that highlights many local happenings. Our First Amendment Screenings are a great chance to see rare documentaries on current and past political issues. We also offer live music Thursday thru Sunday, from a variety of local artists and genres.
This is actually the best restaurant in town. The food is always amazing- local, organic, and very colorful. So much attention is given each serving you can order anything and be satisfied. The Tuesday night First Amendment Film screenings are a plus.
I've heard some really good bands at Proper Eats too- Beliss for example. The place has mellowed out with age which is more conducive to a good dining experience. All three thumbs up!
I really liked the feel when I walked in. It was my first time and I could tell that the vibe was local and organic. They have a good amount of choices for produce that was in season. I didn't purchase any, but I did order some juice and sat at one of there tables. If the juice sets the standard, then it's pretty darn gooood.
There was a stage in the corner...I wanna go back for some live music. Wanna come??
