Our company was created as an alternative to conventional burial. Each casket is made by hand from sustainably harvested wood that is grown right here in Oregon. No metal is ever used in their construction, instead the caskets are constructed using joinery in lieu of screws or nails. The glue used in the casket construction is environmentally safe and non-toxic. Sustainable Qualification Summary Because reducing our impact on the environment is important, Portland Natural Caskets is careful to take all aspects involved in the creation of their products into consideration. Material sourcing, toxicity of glues, shipping distances, and the reuse of waste materials have been considered. Raw materials come from Oregon, and completed caskets are not shipped further than Washington state.
