Sustainable Qualification Summary
Gardenworks, INC. is an all organic landscape design and installation business. We use no chemical products, either in our installation or maintenance services. We use natural methods of soil erosion control and stormwater management, including terracing of slopes, plants that work to control soil and water run-off, and effficient drain and water dispersing systems. We are on the Stormwater Management Referral List for the City of Portland
We use low impact solutions for our irrigation services including drip systems, auto timers that adjust for rainfall, and correct plant placement to reduce water needs.
We use locally sourced materials as much as possible, including locally grown plant materials, rock from local quarries, and yard debris compost.
All our prunings and debris are in turn recycled to create more planting mix.
We use 'right plant, right place' design techniques to reduce maintenance and create sustainable habitat in the urban environment.
