Community Warehouse is a non-profit agency that takes donations of basic household items and furniture and gives them to low-income people recovering from crisis such as homelessness, domestic violence and disability. The majority of our clients are families with young children and most have a woman as head of household. Over 90 local social service agencies refer people in need to Community Warehouse for assistance. Our services provide people in need with the basics necessary for a functional home, and provide them with an opportunity to create stability in their lives. Each week approximately 70 low-income households are assisted by Community Warehouse. Because we are the only agency of our kind in the Portland and SW Washington areas, over 200 households remain on our waiting list.
