Nurture Salon’s new green dryer is a worthy mention for all those people that get their hair cut and enjoy the green side of life.

Nurture Salon, located at 7311 SE Milwaukie Ave has the only and greenest hair dryer system on the market.

The Freestylist Free-Floating Dryer Support System with SpectraLights is a long and fancy name. This beauty can be describes as a weightless, cordless blow-drying system that eliminates dryer cord gymnastics and dries hair faster using less electricity.

“To be honest, I wanted it because of the cool factor, and bought it for its green technology and utility,” says Alan Mandarano, owner of Nurture Salon, the only salon in the Portland area with the system!

Another genius move Mandarano made was partnering with Matter of Trust – an organization that recycles hair into mats that naturally collect oil spills from the oceans. So, every client that has their hair cut at Nurture is helping to save precious sea life around the world. Not to mention, helping to decrease landfill.

Mandarano is a family man who recently had a son and works with is wife, Natalie. Alan is a member of the National Association of Eco-Friendly Salons & Spas, Sustainable Business Network, Local First campaign, and not to mention, but I will, Nurture Salon is on GreenPosting as well.
