Background: I never leave disappointed when I visit Cape Disappointment just over the border into Washington state.  It's a beautiful place, full of historical landmarks and interesting geographical features. 
I took this picture on a beautiful clear day during my first visit there.  Soft evening light gave a lot of interest to the colors and textures in the sand, which matched well with this broken down fencing.  A graduated filter allowed me to retain the rich blues in the sky while still giving the foreground proper exposure.
