Oregon Green News Possibly Missed 2.15.10 to 2.19.102/22/2010 In our regular search of Oregon news that is green oriented, here are a few that caught our eye this past week as news you may have missed.
2/16/10 : Keeping Oregon babies free from bisphenol-A, aka BPA in baby bottles and sippy cups was shot down by the Oregon Senate in a 15-15 vote. The US Food and Drug Administration said that BPA has potential effects on the brain, behavior and prostate gland fetuses, infants, and children. Connecticut and Minnesota banned BPA in these items already.
2/16/10 : Bob’s Red Mill is now owned by its employees. Bob Moore, the 81 year old owner gave his company to his employees on his birthday. Founded in 1978, the whole-grain food products provider has averaged annual growth between 20-30%.
2/18/10 : Benton County is the healthiest county in Oregon says University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. After a quick google search, it was found next to Lincoln County and the rather obese looking, Lane County.
