It’s becoming more popular these days to grow edible food in the garden like corn, peppers, tomatoes, and other tasty delights. 

Even taking the bigger step of replacing your grass for a full on backyard farm is picking up momentum, thanks to those like fellow GreenPosting neighbor, Dan Bravin.  His company, popFarming, along with many other dedicated volunteers including the members of the Portland/Multnomah Food Policy Council and Fiddlehead Landscaping are transforming City Hall’s east lawn into a veggie garden.

Growing your own food is good, great, grand, and wonderful, but what if your food was raised from a small little chick, to a big clucking hen that lays golden brown eggs for you every morning?

Now, your kitchen table will host the freshest gourmet breakfast served on your block filled with eggs and veggies from your own backyard!

Plus, not only will your feather faced friends help fertilize your garden with their doo doo, they will also eat insects that are harmful to your garden.
